Downtown San Jose councilmember back on campaign trail - San Jose Spotlight
"We have folks who you don't always see on the same list of endorsers. I think that speaks to the fact that we've been able to, in our first couple months in office, build good working relationships with a broad range of people."
"I've learned on the dais that a lot of the people up there, a lot of my colleagues on council - we're all trying to do the same things."
"Really trying to lean into those areas where we're all trying to work towards the same solutions, to build those big coalitions to deliver results for voters."
Anthony Tordillos launched a reelection campaign just more than four months after winning the District 3 San Jose City Council seat in a June special election. The campaign announcement made Tordillos the first candidate to enter the District 3 race for next year’s June 2 primary. Endorsements include San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan, Councilmembers David Cohen and Michael Mulcahy, several Santa Clara County supervisors, South Bay Assemblymembers, and other local municipal officials. The campaign platform emphasizes housing affordability, improved public safety, and addressing the homelessness crisis. Tordillos previously chaired the San Jose Planning Commission and is a former Google employee.
