"We want everyone to come in if they know something. They should come in. Including the president,"
"We've communicated with President Clinton's legal team for months now ... and they continue to delay, delay, delay. Delaying to the point where we had no idea whether they would show up today,"
"It seems like Comer is selectively enforcing subpoenas,"
"I don't think anyone should be able to avoid sharing information with the committee."
The Oversight Committee issued subpoenas to the former president, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, several former attorneys general, and FBI directors in the Jeffrey Epstein probe. Hillary Clinton is scheduled to testify Wednesday, but Clinton attorneys assert the subpoenas are invalid and legally unenforceable. An aborted deposition led Committee Chair James Comer to announce plans to move next week to hold the ex-president in contempt. Democrats criticized selective enforcement and noted several former attorneys general were allowed to submit written statements instead of live testimony. Democrats emphasized accountability for anyone who harmed women and girls and said they want truthful information regardless of party.
