"Elizabeth Warren and other Democrat lawmakers have written an open letter to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) asking for an investigation into alleged "false advertising and deceptive practices" from Trump Mobile. The company first announced its T1 Phone more than six months ago, but is yet to ship a single phone to buyers. The letter is signed by 11 Democrats, led by Senator Warren and Congressman Robert Garcia."
""The American people deserve to know that consumer protection laws apply equally to all businesses, regardless of political connections," the letter states. "The FTC's response to any violations of consumer protection law by Trump Mobile will serve as a critical test of the FTC's independence and commitment to its mission of 'protecting the public from deceptive or unfair business practices.'""
Eleven Democratic officials, led by Elizabeth Warren and Robert Garcia, asked the Federal Trade Commission to investigate Trump Mobile for alleged false advertising and deceptive practices. Trump Mobile announced the T1 Phone over six months ago but has not shipped any units while collecting $100 deposits. The company used "Made in America" branding that was later deleted and promoted a social media ad that relied on an edited render of a Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. The lawmakers asked whether the FTC has opened an investigation and urged equal enforcement standards for Trump Mobile. The group previously sought assurances about avoiding undue political influence and reported no response from the FTC.
