"Minnesota, we've been through a lot,"
"These times call for leaders who can stand up and not be rubber stamps of this administration - but who are also willing to find common ground and fix things in our state."
"I believe we must stand up for what's right and fix what's wrong,"
Amy Klobuchar is running for governor of Minnesota and pledges to challenge President Donald Trump while unifying the state. Democrats gain a high-profile, proven statewide winner as Gov. Tim Walz abandoned a third-term bid amid criticism over mismanagement of taxpayer funding for child care programs. Klobuchar cited Minnesota's recent crises, including an immigration enforcement surge, federal officers killing two protesters, the assassination of a state legislative leader, and a school shooting that killed multiple children. She avoided directly mentioning ongoing fraud investigations into the child care programs. Multiple Republicans, including Mike Lindell, Lisa Demuth, Scott Jensen and Kristin Robbins, are seeking the GOP nomination.
