'Boston ICE Tea Party' aims to 'take down tyranny' by throwing ice into Boston Harbor
"The crisis we're having has a lot of similarities to the crisis that was happening over 250 years ago,"
"Families are afraid to go out of their homes. We're outraged right now, and we're standing up for our neighbors."
"Today, a President who behaves like a king occupies the White House. He has sent ICE to harass our city and kidnap our friends, families, and neighbors,"
"Let us rise once more to take down tyranny!"
Boston Indivisible and Mass 50501 will host a "Boston ICE Tea Party" on Dec. 16 to protest immigration arrests and criticize the Trump administration's actions. The event will begin with a rally at 7:15 p.m. at the Irish Famine Memorial Plaza, followed by a march to the Waterfront Plaza. At 7:50 p.m., participants will gather near the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum and throw "clean" ice into Boston Harbor. Organizers will supply ice that meets Boston Conservation Commission and Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection guidelines. Mass 50501 promotes nonviolent resistance under the banner "50 Protests, 50 States, 1 Movement."
