Conservative commentator Ben Shapiro warned the request creates clear conflicts of interest because the president appointed the DOJ officials and could trigger widespread litigation or a House impeachment. Shapiro expressed sympathy for the president but predicted significant legal challenges. Other right-wing figures also counseled caution and advised tabling the request to avoid political and legal fallout.
