Texas Democrats delayed enforcement of a restrictive abortion law by running out the clock in the state legislature. Anthony Weiner gained ground in New York mayoral polls. The Senate appeared poised to pass a comprehensive immigration bill while passage in the House remained uncertain. The president highlighted climate change rhetoric and gestures during public appearances.
