"I don't know where they came from and the way they treated me, the way they attacked me, the way I was begging him. I have a heart condition. Three big people were sitting on my back, the way they tore me down, sitting on me, and I asked him to let me go, which they absolutely would not pay no attention, and they took me to detention center, Shouhed said."
"You don't (expletive) with ICE, and was handcuffed and taken into a car."
"I didn't even know where he was for hours and with his heart condition"
Rafie Shouhed, 79, the long-time owner of Valley Car Wash in Van Nuys, alleges federal immigration officers entered his business on Sept. 9, pushed him down in a hallway and violently pinned him to the ground. Shouhed reports agents sat on his back and one placed a knee on his neck while pinning his arms, then handcuffed and transported him and five employees to the Metropolitan Detention Center in downtown Los Angeles. He reports 12 hours in detention with no medical attention despite a recent heart procedure involving three stents. Detention staff later determined he is a U.S. citizen; he was released with no charges and subsequently taken to a hospital. Shouhed filed a $50 million claim against the Department of Homeland Security and related federal agencies.
