Woman extradited from UK to US to face charges of murdering her two children
"A Colorado woman suspected of killing two of her young children has been extradited from the United Kingdom to the United States to face charges. Kimberlee Singler was arrested in London in December 2023. That came just over a week after her nine-year-old daughter and seven-year-old son were found dead in their home in Colorado Springs. Her 11-year-old daughter was injured but survived."
"Singler, who had superficial knife wounds, told police that a man who entered the apartment was responsible for the attack. She was initially considered a victim. Her surviving daughter backed up Singler's claim at first, but police sought to arrest Singler on 26 December 2023 after they said the girl changed her story. By then, Singler was gone. She was found four days later in London's upscale Chelsea neighborhood and arrested."
Kimberlee Singler, 37, was extradited from the United Kingdom to the United States to face two counts of first-degree murder after two of her children were found dead in Colorado Springs and an 11-year-old daughter survived. Singler was arrested in London in December 2023 after initially being considered a victim; she had superficial knife wounds and told police a man entered the apartment and committed the attack. The surviving daughter initially supported Singler's account then changed her statement, prompting police to seek Singler's arrest. Singler fought extradition on grounds that a life-without-parole sentence would violate European human rights law, but her challenges were rejected.
