Video captures plane landing on Florida highway, crashing into car
"All of a sudden the front wheel hit the car, just came crashing down, sparks flying, debris everywhere,"
"It was so bad that it was the only place that she could have survived. If she had had other passengers, they would have all been smashed,"
"She was dazed at first. She didn't even notice that notice the airplane that was right in front of the car what hit her, she thought a semi-truck hit her,"
"Just a few seconds earlier or later with that airplane, it could have been a major, major catastrophe,"
Late Monday night a small plane lost power in both engines and crashed into the southbound lanes of Interstate 95 in central Florida. The aircraft's front wheel struck a Toyota Camry, sending the plane into the median and causing sparks, debris and damage. The female driver was able to exit the car and was treated for minor injuries and cuts from broken glass; one person was taken to the hospital. The plane's pilot and passenger, both 27, were uninjured. Nearby witnesses and a nurse provided immediate aid and noted how narrowly a larger catastrophe was avoided.
