This Week In Rockville Centre: Fraudulent Restaurant Meals, Shouting Matches Over Parking Spots
"The entries are as follows: On Dec. 22 at 3:50 p.m., a Valley Stream woman reported her wallet being stolen while she was working at an independent living facility on Merrick Road, police said. On Dec. 23 at 12:46 p.m., a man living on North Centre Avenue reported that he returned home to find his apartment door opened and property stolen, police said."
"On Dec. 27 at 4:58 a.m., a vehicle collided with and knocked over light pole at the intersection of Park Avenue and Merrick Road, police said. The light pole fell into the road and the vehicle fled the scene, police said. On Dec. 27 at 4:30 p.m., the clerk at a hotel in Rockville Centre was involved in a verbal dispute with a customer over parking, police said."
Six incidents occurred in Rockville Centre Dec. 22–29. On Dec. 22 a woman from Valley Stream reported her wallet stolen while working at an independent living facility. On Dec. 23 a resident returned home to find his apartment door open and property missing. Early Dec. 27 a vehicle struck and knocked over a light pole at Park Avenue and Merrick Road; the pole fell into the road and the vehicle fled. Later Dec. 27 a hotel clerk had a verbal dispute with a customer over parking. On Dec. 28 a woman reported fraudulent debit card charges at a Bronx restaurant. On Dec. 29 a 79-year-old nursing home resident was found unresponsive and pronounced dead.
