"The urgent investigation into the apparent kidnapping of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie continued Sunday, a week after the mother of "Today" show host Savannah Guthrie was reported missing in Arizona. Savannah Guthrie solemnly told the potential kidnappers in a social media video released Saturday that the family was prepared to pay for her safe return. Flanked by her siblings, Guthrie said "we received your message" and that: "This is the only way we will have peace. This is very valuable to us, and we will pay.""
"Detectives and agents continued to perform follow-up work at multiple locations as part of the investigation, according to an email Sunday from the Pima County Sheriff's Department. The agency said in the email to media that it would not yet provide details about that work. "Investigators have not identified any suspects, persons of interest, or vehicles connected to this case," read the email."
Investigators are working to find 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, who is believed to have been taken from her home just outside Tucson last weekend. Savannah Guthrie and siblings recorded a video saying the family received a message and offered to pay for Nancy's safe return. An FBI spokesman said the message was sent to Tucson station KOLD, which declined to share details while the FBI reviewed it. Pima County investigators conducted follow-up work at multiple locations and found blood on the front porch that matched Nancy's DNA. Multiple alleged ransom letters were sent to news outlets; officials have identified no suspects or vehicles.
