"Everyone knows about Norman's journey trying to adopt a baby," Newton says. "Well, these guys decided that it was more important for us to donate all that money to you and your wife."
"I couldn't be more excited," Paniagua tells TODAY.com via direct message. "Norman and his wife are so deserving of all this support ... I know their journey hasn't been easy and I'm just glad we can all help."
Employees at a Naples, Florida restaurant redirected their holiday party funds to help coworker Norman Vales and his wife with their adoption. General manager Brandon Newton announced the cancellation during a staff meeting while employee Heidi Paniagua recorded the moment. Coworkers cheered and Vales became emotional and left the room to cry. A TikTok of the reveal went viral, drawing millions of views and supportive comments praising the couple and the workplace community. Paniagua said she stays at the restaurant because of the familial atmosphere, and Vales expressed deep gratitude.
