Corporate sponsorships for Pride celebrations in New York City, Salt Lake City, Louisville, St. Louis, Orlando, and Pittsburgh are lower than in previous years. Jordan Braxton, co-president of the United States Association of Prides, said some smaller Prides gained sponsorships while most saw reductions. She linked the pullback to the Trump administration dismantling Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives, which she said has scared corporations away. In early 2025, Trump issued presidential actions targeting DEI in the federal government and urging the private sector to end what the administration calls “illegal DEI discrimination and preferences.” Pittsburgh Pride is seeking to replace lost funding before its early-June festival and parade, expecting only 30–40% of prior sponsorship dollars, while using a state grant and individual donations to narrow the gap.
