Person missing in Texas plane crash confirmed dead, bringing death toll to 6, Mexican Navy says
"It is with profound sadness that we learned of a child involved in a plane crash while being transported for burn care in Galveston (Monday) afternoon. Shriners Children's Texas prides ourselves on caring for children from all over the world. Having not admitted this patient, we are unable to provide any information."
""A lot of manpower, a lot of prayers," Miller said after being asked what goes into the search."
A plane on a medical support mission crashed just before 3:30 p.m. Monday near the Galveston Causeway while traveling from Yucatan to Galveston to transport a child for burn care. Eight people were on board; the Mexican Navy reported six fatalities and two survivors. Passengers included doctors, nurses, Navy personnel, and a child with family bound for Shriners Children's Hospital. The plane lost communications for about ten minutes, prompting belief it had landed. Witnesses entered the water to assist and a video shows a man pulling a woman from the wreckage. Search teams, including Tim Miller and Texas EquuSearch, searched the crash area. A missing person was found dead Tuesday evening, the Mexican Navy announced.
