Lindsey Vonn, 41, crashed during the women's alpine downhill at the Milan Olympics after clipping a gate about 13 seconds into her run and tumbling down the slope. She was airlifted off the course and underwent surgery at a local hospital. The crash came just over a week after she tore her ACL at the Alpine Ski World Cup. Vonn sustained a complex tibia fracture that is currently stable but will require multiple surgeries. She said she had no regrets about attempting an Olympic comeback and valued the opportunity to compete. Her father said he would prefer she retire.
