"A car was removed from the water in Manchester-by-the-Sea early Wednesday after two people took it for a drive on the beach. ""I really hope the car's okay. We were going for a ride - listening to some music, listening to the waves, watching the sea - after the storm, especially. The waves were really loud, and we thought it would be good to chill on the beach," one of the occupants, both of whom are Gordon College students, told WCVB."
"Manchester-by-the-Sea Lt. Mark McCoy said the students may be charged as the investigation continues and that the car appeared to be totaled, he told WCVB. The car was removed from the water by a tow truck around 6 a.m., police said, adding that the beach remained open during that time."
