"On Monday at 10:20 a.m. the National Weather Service released a lake wind advisory valid from Tuesday 10 p.m. until Wednesday Dec. 17, at 1 p.m. for the Greater Lake Tahoe Area. The NWS Reno NV says to be ready for, Southwest winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph and waves 1 to 3 feet for Lake Tahoe."
"Small boats, kayaks and paddle boards will be prone to capsizing and should remain off lake waters until conditions improve, according to the NWS. Check lake conditions before heading out and be prepared for a sudden increase in winds and wave heights. Consider postponing boating activities on the lake until a day with less wind.
