Aaron Lacey has been appointed chief of the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department after serving several months as interim chief. He replaces former Chief Joe Testa, who retired in August after 29 years in public service. The joint department comprises 128 firefighters and personnel staffed across 10 stations. Lacey spent 20 years advancing through the department from firefighter-paramedic to deputy chief. He holds an associate's degree in liberal studies and fire science technology, a bachelor's in sociology, and a master's in leadership. The fire chief role can pay up to $294,816 annually, plus benefits.
