"Lark Street Music owner Bernard Buzzy Levine posted security video of a man stuffing a Gibson F-12 and a Weber Yellowstone into his coat, then fleeing the Teaneck shop last week. Days later, Levine wrote that the merchandise had been returned with an apologetic note written in red pen. Sorry, I been drunk. Merry Christmas, the letter said. You good man."
"Levin said he gave chase when the alleged thief returned the instruments by dropping them off at the shop's front door in a pair of shopping bags, but had no luck. I ran up to the door and saw him running down the street so summoning all my feet fleetness I took off after him, he wrote on Facebook. Not so smart, I lost him, called 911 and they are in pursuit."
A man stole a Gibson F-12 and a Weber Yellowstone mandolin from Lark Street Music in Teaneck, New Jersey, while security video captured him stuffing the instruments into his coat and fleeing. The mandolins were returned days later in shopping bags with a red-pen note reading, "Sorry, I been drunk. Merry Christmas. You good man." The shop owner gave chase after spotting the drop-off at the shop door but lost the suspect and called 911; police continue searching. The instruments sustained minor nicks but were otherwise returned in decent shape.
