"I was disappointed in the lack of progress made by the Biden administration. So, even though I voted for Kamala, I was cautiously optimistic about this administration. Trump is a doer; he takes action. He certainly took action, but in all the wrong places."
"Overall, I feel pretty good about it. With every presidency there's going to be things I agree with and things I don't, but overall I'm pretty happy. I feel a lot safer. I really appreciate what he's done at the border, and how he's doing things to cut down on crime and keep drugs out of our country. So, overall, I feel pretty positive about it."
"I think he's doing a good job. ... I definitely feel sorry when I see families and children separated. This is not easy for me to watch, honestly. But each country has its own laws, and if any people are breaking the law, that's unfortunately what's going to happen."
More than 5,000 women were contacted and nearly 500 responded with diverse emotional reactions ten months into the second presidential term. Responses included sadness, anger, relief, elation and cautious optimism across different ages and backgrounds. Several respondents praised border enforcement, crime-reduction efforts and a greater sense of safety. Other respondents described disappointment in lack of progress from the previous administration, heartbreak over unmet promises and distress about family separations. Respondents included a 94-year-old expressing desire for legal consequences, a first-time voter from Venezuela seeking eased legal immigration, a stay-at-home mother and an Army wife feeling disillusioned.
