Volunteer applications for the Olympics will open in summer 2026; the Olympics start July 14, 2028, and the Paralympics open Aug. 15, 2028. Pilots were run with Shine LA and the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. Community opportunities currently focus on the L.A. area, while Games-time roles will expand beyond the region. LA28 estimates 50,000 to 70,000 volunteers will staff the Olympics.
