Sherrone Moore was detained by the Saline Police Department and then turned over to the Pittsfield Township Police Department for investigation into potential charges. The University of Michigan terminated Moore as head football coach, effective immediately, after a university investigation found credible evidence of an inappropriate relationship with a staff member. The university stated the conduct violated policy and invoked a zero-tolerance stance. Calls to both the Saline and Pittsfield Township Police Departments were not returned. Moore, 39, served two seasons as Michigan's head coach after joining the program as an assistant coach in 2018.
