Renee Nicole Good, 37, was shot and killed by an ICE officer near East 34th Street and Portland Avenue in Minneapolis after returning from a school dropoff. Initial claims of self-defense have been challenged by witness and officer footage, and relatives dispute the account. The shooting prompted protests in Minneapolis and other US cities. The Trump administration assigned sole jurisdiction to the FBI, excluding state and municipal investigators and preventing the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension from accessing materials. Minneapolis officials and Minnesota prosecutors seek reinstatement of a joint probe and will collect videos and statements for potential state charges. ICE agents also shot two people in Oregon.
