Brian Cole Confesses: Wanted to 'Speak Up' For Elex Deniers
"I didn't agree with what people were doing, like just telling half the country that they that their that they just need to ignore it. I didn't think that was a good idea, so I went to the protest,"
"if people feel that, you know, something as important as voting in the federal election is being tampered with, is being, you know, being you know, relegated"
Brian J. Cole Jr., of Woodbridge, Virginia, waived his Miranda rights and provided a detailed confession that he constructed and planted two improvised explosive devices outside the Democratic and Republican National Committee offices the night before Jan. 6. Cole said he drove to Washington on Jan. 5 to attend a protest over Donald Trump's 2020 election loss. He said he acted because he believed the election had been tampered with, wanted to speak up for those who felt the election was rigged, and was upset people were labeled fascists or Nazis for questioning the results. He rarely discusses politics and did not tell his family.
