Michelle Sadio, 44, was shot dead outside the River of Life Pentecostal Church near Church Road in Willesden in December 2024 during a "one week" wake. Approximately 100 mourners attended the wake for 80-year-old Dianne Boatong. Two other people were injured: Kenneth Amoah, 39, sustained a gunshot wound to the back and is paralysed below the waist; Kadeem Francis, 32, was shot in the foot. Four men — Perry Allen-Thomas, Shaquille Sutherland, Amir Salem and Tahjin Sommersall — face charges of murder and two counts of attempted murder and deny the charges. Valerie Asamoah saw sparks from a dark-coloured car and heard noises like fireworks before Sadio was found slumped.
"I turned to the right and saw someone I hadn't seen yet. As I turned my body to say 'oh hi', I just heard some noises and thought 'what's that?' and turned back around. A car had come, a dark-coloured car, and the window was down and I just saw sparks coming out of the car. I was like 'what's that? what's that?'. I looked and everyone around me had run."
