Mohammad Bashir, 31, has been charged with four terrorism offences, including preparation of terrorist acts and sharing terrorist publications with intent to encourage terrorism. The alleged assistance related to reconnaissance on a UK defence facility and was not linked to the Heaton Park Synagogue attack on 2 October. Two worshippers, Melvin Cravitz and Adrian Daulby, were killed when Jihad Al-Shamie drove into the synagogue gates and then attacked with a knife while wearing a fake suicide belt. Bashir was arrested at Manchester Airport on 27 November and is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court.
