"Five youths between the ages of 12 and 15 have been arrested after an armed robbery involving a firearm in Oshawa, Ont., last month, said police. On Sept. 5, officers responded to calls of a person with a firearm near William Lott Drive and Greenhill Avenue in Oshawa, said Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) in a release on Monday. Police said they spoke with a cyclist at the scene, who said a group of youths had approached and started to assault him."
"The cyclist told officers that one of the youths pointed a firearm at him at one point. The cyclists' belongings were stolen by the group before they fled the scene, said police. On Wednesday, police arrested five youths from Oshawa: a 12-year-old girl, a 13-year-old girl, a 13-year-old boy and two 15-year-old boys. They have been charged with robbery and possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace, said police."
On Sept. 5 near William Lott Drive and Greenhill Avenue in Oshawa, officers responded to reports of a person with a firearm. A cyclist told police a group of youths approached, began to assault him and one youth pointed a firearm at him. The group stole the cyclist's belongings before fleeing the scene. Police later arrested five youths from Oshawa — a 12-year-old girl, a 13-year-old girl, a 13-year-old boy and two 15-year-old boys — and charged them with robbery and possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace. All accused were held for bail hearings and anyone with information is urged to contact DRPS or Crime Stoppers.
