"What started as a TV show became a shared experience that shaped my life and the lives of so many fans, and I'll always be thankful for that connection. The fact that it still means so much to people all these years later is something I'm very proud of. This 'Hannahversary' is my way of celebrating and thanking the fans who've stood by me for 20 years."
Miley Cyrus announced a Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary special celebrating the Disney Channel series and her blond-wigged alter ego. The special will film before a live studio audience and will be hosted by Alex Cooper, who will interview Cyrus about the show's creation, cultural impact, and her favorite memories and music. Disney+ promised never-before-seen archival footage and some familiar *notes* returning to the spotlight. Several original sets, including Hannah's closet and the Stewart family living room, will be recreated. During its four-season run the series earned Emmy nominations, spawned films, a record-breaking tour, and multiple platinum and gold soundtracks.
