Bay Area News Group operates a weekly girls Athlete of the Week poll covering performances from Dec. 29-Jan. 3. Voting is open until 5 p.m. Wednesday and multiple votes are allowed but bots or other artificial voting methods are prohibited. Votes submitted by email or after the deadline are not counted. Winners are announced each Friday online and in print. Nominations for future polls are accepted via highschools@bayareanewsgroup.com until 11 a.m. each Monday; stats submitted to MaxPreps by coaches or team statisticians are reviewed. The nominees include high school athletes from basketball and soccer with game statistics provided.
