Isaiah Clendinen, Moreau Catholic basketball: The junior finished with 26 points one off his season high to lead Moreau to a 57-52 victory over Madison-San Diego. The win improved the Mariners' record to 9-1."
The Bay Area News Group runs a weekly Boys Athlete of the Week poll covering performances from Dec. 22–27. Voting excludes bots and other artificial methods, and suspicious activity can disqualify candidates or suspend the poll. Votes sent by email or received after Wednesday at 5 p.m. are not counted. Winners are announced each Friday online and in print. Nominations are accepted via highschools@bayareanewsgroup.com until 11 a.m. each Monday, and MaxPreps stats submitted by coaches or team statisticians are reviewed. Nominees include standout high school soccer and basketball players with listed performances and records.
