Transfer rumors, news: Chelsea eye Forest's England U21 star McAtee
"Chelsea is one of the clubs showing an interest in signing Nottingham Forest attacking midfielder James McAtee, the Daily Mail reports. Blues boss Enzo Maresca is an admirer of the 23-year-old after working with him at Manchester City. McAtee' signed for Forest after helping England win the European Under-21 Championship in the summer, but his lack of game time at The City Ground has alerted interested clubs with Leeds United, AFC Bournemouth, Fulham, Sunderland, RB Leipzig, Bayer Leverkusen, Eintracht Frankfurt and PSV Eindhoven"
"Real Madrid and top Premier League clubs have been scouting AZ Alkmaar midfielder Kees Smit, who also has plenty more interest from other top clubs around Europe, according to Fabrizio Romano. Even so, he adds that a move isn't likely to happen until the summer. AZ would not accept the €50 million that has been reported as the 19-year-old's valuation, as the Eredevisie club has already turned down offers that would eventually reach €60m."
Enzo Maresca wants to reunite with James McAtee and Chelsea are among multiple clubs interested in the Nottingham Forest midfielder. McAtee signed for Forest after helping England win the Under-21 European Championship, but limited playing time has drawn attention from Leeds United, AFC Bournemouth, Fulham, Sunderland, RB Leipzig, Bayer Leverkusen, Eintracht Frankfurt and PSV Eindhoven. Chelsea also monitor Forest's Elliot Anderson and Crystal Palace's Adam Wharton for midfield reinforcement. Real Madrid and Premier League clubs scout AZ Alkmaar's Kees Smit, but AZ refuses a reported €50m valuation and has rejected offers approaching €60m, with a transfer unlikely before summer. Manchester United view Rúben Neves only as a late backup option.
