"Teams will begin by playing all three of the other sides in their group, with the top teams in each group progressing to a play-off round, followed by a final contested by the winners of those. CEO of 525 Rosario, Tim Pastore, called the competition an "opportunity to celebrate talent, culture, and community" and said the aim of the tournament is to help create "legacies and bonds that will endure beyond the field of play"."
Lionel Messi has created a U16 youth football tournament, staging its inaugural competition from 9 to 14 December at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, home of Inter Miami. Eight teams will play 18 matches across six days. Chelsea, Manchester City, Barcelona, Inter Miami, Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid, River Plate and Newell's Old Boys are invited. Teams split into two groups of four and play round-robin group matches, with top teams progressing to a play-off round and a final. The event will showcase the game's future and include additional activities beyond matches. The tournament aims to celebrate talent, culture and community and create legacies and bonds that endure beyond the field of play.
