Atlético Madrid has signed Spanish midfielder Álex Baena for approximately €50 million, which includes bonuses. He has signed a five-year contract that extends until 2030. Atlético had previously reached an agreement with Villarreal for the transfer. In addition, Baena will be joined by Matteo Ruggeri from Atalanta, and Atlético plans to sign Johnny Cardoso from Real Betis soon. After these signings, Atlético intends to strengthen their defense, with Cristian Romero from Tottenham being a primary target, though no agreement has been finalized yet.
