Slavia Prague fined 357,000 after derby abandoned
"Slavia said that "any disruption of the playing field or inappropriate behavior in the stadium is unacceptable". They added: "At the same time, we are very sorry for the impact of this decision on tens of thousands of normal and decent fans who have nothing to do with the whole situation.""
Slavia Prague received a 10 million Czech crown fine, were ordered to play four matches behind closed doors, and had their derby against Sparta Prague forfeited after the match was abandoned. Slavia were leading 3-2 in stoppage time when hundreds of home supporters stormed the pitch at the Fortuna Arena. Sparta were awarded a 3-0 win and were fined 600,000 Czech crowns after their fans set off flares and damaged the stadium. The sanctions reduced Slavia’s league lead to five points over Sparta. Footage showed players trying to leave the pitch as flares were carried toward the Sparta section and pyrotechnics were thrown into the stands, with Sparta goalkeeper Jakub Surovcik appearing to be hit in the face. Slavia expressed regret for normal fans affected by the decision.
