Although Seattle lost all three group stage games against tough opponents, Schmetzer was encouraged by the intensity and performance displayed by his players. He emphasized the need for consistent technical ability and maintaining high standards as they face Austin FC, who are close behind them in the conference standings. Schmetzer also looks forward to applying insights gained from competing against top teams, believing it will help him develop as a coach.
"I was very pleased with the intensity that the players showed but a lot of that was on them," Schmetzer said, reflecting on the Club World Cup.
