Juventus turn to Beto as Mateta alternative - Soccer News
"Having made signing a striker this winter their absolute priority, Juventus have been heavily linked with Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta throughout January, before eventually refusing to match Palace's £40million evaluation of the striker. According to TalkSport, they've now moved on to Everton's Beto. That deal, however, won't be easy to get done before the window closes this evening (Monday) - the Toffees are apparently reluctant to sell one of the two striker options in their senior squad."
"Beto, 28, has so far scored only four goals in all competitions - three in the Premier League, the latest of which came in Everton's 1-1 draw away against Brighton as he netted in the dying seconds of the match to steal a point for his team. Not only are Everton reluctant to sell at this point, but they're also reportedly looking to add to their attacking ranks, being in advanced talks over a loan deal for Chelsea winger Tyrique George."
Juventus made signing a striker their absolute winter priority and were heavily linked with Jean-Philippe Mateta but refused Palace's £40million valuation. Juventus shifted interest to Everton's striker Beto as an alternative target. The transfer looks difficult to complete before the window closes because Everton are reluctant to sell one of the two senior striker options in their squad. Beto, aged 28, has scored four goals in all competitions, three in the Premier League, including a late equaliser at Brighton. Everton are also seeking to strengthen attack and are in advanced talks for Tyrique George on loan.
