Fabian Hurzeler has agreed a new long-term contract with Brighton and Hove Albion, keeping him at the Amex Stadium until 2029. He became head coach in 2024 after leading St. Pauli to promotion to the Bundesliga. In his first season with Brighton, the team finished eighth. Brighton are currently eighth in the Premier League with three matches remaining, and a five-game unbeaten run ended with a 3-1 defeat to Newcastle United. The team is two points behind sixth place, which could become a Champions League qualification spot if Aston Villa win the Europa League and finish fifth. Hurzeler expressed pride in the club’s commitment and excitement for future progress, while chairman Tony Bloom praised his playing identity and the team’s resilience, intensity, and control.
