"So...what is the difference between this season and last season? Per some nifty graphic work from Opta (via Sky Germany as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Kane's movement has been greater and he is covering more area overall on the pitch: Kane has definitely been more active and opportunistic, but the attack has been better overall as well. Luis Díaz has been active and his movement has created a playing field where opposing backlines have to account for him and his dynamic runs off-the-ball."
"When mixing in Lennart Karl, who "waterbugs" himself all over the place, there is a great chance for Kane to use his intelligence in a more broad area as pockets of space open up. It seems as if the enhanced movement of his teammates has allowed Kane to be more targeted with his own movement and capitalize with later runs into the space. The bottom line, though, is that it is all working and Kane is having an all-time season."
Harry Kane has 23 goals and three assists in 17 games and is dominating this season. Opta data shows Kane's movement has increased and he is covering more area across the pitch. Teammates' mobility — Luis Díaz, Serge Gnabry, Michael Olise and Lennart Karl — creates pockets of space and forces opposing backlines to adjust. Increased off-the-ball runs and rotation allow Kane to time later runs and exploit openings, including deploying as a No.10 at times. The combination of Kane's intelligence, teammate movement, and an improved overall attack has produced an all-time season. Bayern are on break while international fixtures continue.
