"In 1967, Navy veteran Paul Emerson first skied on the Maine slopes, quickly falling in love and joining the ski patrol where he would remain for 35 years. Don, Paul's son, hit the slopes that same year, when he was just 12."
"In 1973, Don joined the ski patrol, and his son Jared started skiing on the slopes of Saddleback when he was 2. Eventually, like his father and grandson, Jared began working at Saddleback, and great-grandson Wesley is now one year into his own career with the ski patrol, creating a true four-generation ski patrol dynasty."
The Emerson family has created an extraordinary multi-generational connection to Saddleback Mountain in Rangeley, Maine. Paul Emerson, a Navy veteran, first skied the mountain in 1967 and joined the ski patrol, serving for 35 years. His son Don began skiing that same year at age 12 and joined the patrol in 1973. Don's son Jared started skiing at age 2 and eventually followed his father and grandfather into ski patrol work. Now, great-grandson Wesley has begun his own career with the ski patrol, establishing a unique four-generation dynasty dedicated to the mountain and its skiing community.
