"I was so nervous this morning and I couldn't wait to go down to ski this slope. I really like this course,"
"Everyone said 'oh, it's a big advantage because you're the only one that's skied here', she said. It's not an advantage because I don't remember it. But I do remember the fans and I do remember the atmosphere. The snow was really soft, it was really hard to see in the middle and I made a pretty big mistake but I'm happy to be on the podium again. For me what's important is to be consistent and I'm really happy that I could do that despite the conditions."
Nicol Delago won the women's World Cup downhill in Tarvisio in a time of 1:46.28 wearing bib three, marking her first World Cup victory and her first podium since Saalbach in March 2024. Germany's Kira Weidle-Winkelmann finished second, 0.20 seconds behind, while Lindsey Vonn climbed from 11th to third, 0.06 seconds further back. The Di Prampero piste was shrouded in thick fog and hosted a World Cup race for the first time in 15 years. Delago was fastest in Friday's training and her sister Nadia finished 10th, with the siblings embracing at the finish. Vonn, aged 41 and preparing for an Olympic comeback, extended her downhill standings lead to 144 points over Emma Aicher; Vonn's season includes two wins, one second and two thirds. Delago has six podiums from her entire career.
