NATO accused Moscow of reckless behavior after Romania reported a Russian drone crashed into a Galati apartment block during an attack on neighboring Ukraine. Romania’s defense ministry said radar tracked the drone entering Romanian airspace and that a woman and a child suffered minor injuries overnight. The 10-storey building’s roof showed charred and damaged brickwork, and authorities said the drone exploded on impact, tearing through a top-floor flat. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said President Vladimir Putin was informed, while Maria Zakharova called drone accusations unsubstantiated. Dmitry Medvedev warned European leaders drones would keep straying and disrupt sleep. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and US ambassador Matthew Whitaker condemned the incident and pledged to defend every inch of NATO territory, likely increasing tensions on the alliance’s eastern flank.
