Joel Webbon, founder of Right Response Ministries and senior pastor at Covenant Bible Church in Austin, promotes explicit anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric and endorses using slurs in certain contexts. He called homosexuality degenerate and said it harms society. He claimed there is a concerted effort that sacrifices children to appease older gay men and described that behavior as wicked and predatory. He said Christians can use the slur in proper context and urged stopping perceived LGBTQ+ influence on children. Webbon has a history of extreme statements, including false and inflammatory claims about gay men and public figures.
