Erika Kirk said she prayed to be pregnant when her husband Charlie Kirk was shot and killed in September. She said they had wanted four children and both of them had been praying to expand their family. She described a hoped-for pregnancy as potentially "the ultimate blessing out of this catastrophe." She urged couples, especially young women, not to delay having children because careers can be resumed but childbearing cannot be reclaimed. She said she has two young children, a boy and a girl, and that they will one day learn that they are Charlie Kirk's children.
