Homes are for sale at Cotino, a Storyliving by Disney planned community in Rancho Mirage in the Coachella Valley near Palm Springs, and some residents have already moved into the first neighborhood. The next Storyliving community is planned as Asteria in North Carolina. Cotino includes the Artisan Club, a members-only club that opened Oct. 23, and amenities designed to weave Disney storytelling into daily residential life. The community will host rotating exhibits from the Walt Disney Archives; the first exhibit displays Disneyland and Walt Disney Western memorabilia and photos of Walt and Roy in local Palm Springs events. Walt Disney maintained a private retreat at Smoke Tree Ranch and frequently visited the desert for rest and inspiration.
