Three babies born into Sudan war every minute, charity warns

In Sudan, 5.6 million births have occurred since the war began in April 2023, averaging 5,000 births daily. The conflict has resulted in tens of thousands of deaths and displaced 12 million people. The maternal mortality rate has risen significantly, and up to 80% of health facilities in conflict zones are nonoperational, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis.
