Kai West, a 25-year-old British national known as 'IntelBroker', was charged in the United States following his arrest in France. He is accused of being part of a hacking scheme that targeted various organizations, resulting in the theft of sensitive data worth over $25 million. West allegedly sold this data, including personal information from healthcare providers and telecommunications companies, for over $2 million. The charges reflect the FBI's dedication to combating international cybercrime and protecting victims from such activities.
"The IntelBroker alias has caused millions in damages to victims around the world," said US attorney Jay Clayton.
Between around 2023 and 2025, the FBI said West offered stolen data for sale more than 40 times and offered to distribute this data for free around 117 times.
