"Criminals calling themselves Radiant hacked Kido nursery chain and posted profiles of 10 children online on Thursday. On their website on the dark web - a part of the internet accessed using specialist software - they have shared a "Data Leakage Roadmap" saying "the next steps for us will be to release 30 more 'profiles' of each child and 100 employees' private data"."
"Kido told parents the breach happened when criminals accessed their data hosted by a software service called Famly. The software is widely used by other nurseries and childcare organisations, and it says on its website it is used by more than one million "owners, managers, practitioners and families". There is no indication other Famly customers have been affected. BBC News has contacted the firm for comment."
Hackers identifying as Radiant accessed data for Kido nurseries hosted by software service Famly and posted profiles of 10 children online. The attackers published a "Data Leakage Roadmap" stating they plan to release 30 more profiles per child and private data for 100 employees. Kido is working with authorities and the Met Police is investigating. Famly says its software is used by more than one million owners, managers, practitioners and families, and there is no indication other Famly customers have been affected. The criminals' site displayed nursery pictures, dates of birth, birthplaces, household details and contact information. Several parents reported receiving threatening phone calls from the hackers.
