A former semiconductor engineer will spend three years in prison after being convicted of stealing technology from ASML and NXP and sharing it with a Russian contact. The Rotterdam District Court found the 43-year-old engineer guilty of computer hacking and violating EU sanctions. Reportedly identified as German Aksenov, the defendant allegedly shared sensitive files regarding semiconductor manufacturing and processes. He confessed to stealing data but prosecutors couldn't establish whether he profited from the sales. He was acquitted on charges related to providing further technical assistance.
