""Everybody who asked to participate represents a piece of our community and story. We wanted to showcase the community, and people who want to make this a great community.""
""We had hoped to get farther out in the community, but we were limited by time and resources. The film is a gift from the art center to our community and state.""
""Savage calls it a love letter to our community and our state, showcasing the diverse voices and stories that make Baker County unique.""
Baker County created a nearly six-minute video titled Voices of Baker County: We Mutually Pledge to celebrate America's 250th birthday. This project, led by Crossroads Carnegie Art Center, showcases the beauty of Northeast Oregon and features nearly 20 community members reading excerpts from the Declaration of Independence. Executive Director Ginger Savage describes the film as a love letter to the community. Filming took place at various local sites, and the video was released on February 14, coinciding with Oregon's statehood anniversary.
